11/04/09:
"Class Related Events For Fiftieth Reunion"
This is the intial word from the BHS Class of 1960 reunion committee on our upcoming 50th reunion in the year 2010.
It was sent to everyone by USPS 1st class mail. This told our class that there was going to be 50th reunion, and that
there will two other related events making it a three function weekend at the end of Beverly Homecoming. Thanks to
the previous mailing (see next item below), there were not too many Unable to Forward (UTF) returns.

BHS Class of 1960 Status Report, June 2009, & "Casual Night" Invitation
These were sent to everyone by USPS 1st class mail. The last were mailed out on Monday, June 15th, all marked "Address
Correction Requested." So far there are about two dozen returns, marked "Return to Sender," "Unable to Forward," and
the like. This is less than I really expected. I was able to resolve all but four of them. Those four [were] listed on the " Newly Lost Classmates List". These were newly missing classmates, and were shortly be added to our "Missing Classmates" page.

Only four newly lost classmates out of an initial mailing of approximately 325 shows a surprisingly small amount of known bad USPS addresses. This does not mean the database is 99% accurate, though, because there will be recipients that are not the person we think is living at a given address. If that unknown person does not write "Not at This Address" or the like on the envelope and return it to the postal service, we will not know we have another bad address. We don't have a baseline for this, so logically, there is no way to know how often this happens. In the past, we have sent stuff to the correctly named person, but not the one in our class with the same name.

By this coming Monday, June 15th, the mailing will be complete for the BHS Class of 1960 Status Report, June 2009. Not since the invitations for our 2005 45th reunion were sent out has there been a USPS mailing to everyone for whom we have an address. One benefit of this is that all addresses will be "exercised." Because the envelopes say, "Address Correction Requested," I will be getting Address Change Notifications back, and returns. If your newsletter is returned to me, then your name will show up on this list. If you have not received yours by June 24, 2009, please let me know. If automatic email does not work on your computer, please Contact the Webmaster here. This notification date has been pushed ahead from the one in the announcement below.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~05/23/09: BHS Class of 1960 Status Report, June 2009, & "Casual Night" Invitation
Sometime next week, about 325 copies of the BHS Class of 1960 Status Report, June 2009
will be sent to everyone with a known United States Postal Service (USPS address). One page is an invitation to our
BHS '60 class, for
Casual Night.
[This will open in a new window - no need to click Back Arrow.].
Two other pages comprise a status report on BHS '60 affairs, not fancy and not really a newsletter, just
information to bring everyone up to date.
If you do not receive your copy by June 15, 2009, probably meaning I do not have your correct USPS mail address, please
Let Me Know.
If automatic email does not work on your computer, please
Contact the Webmaster here.
Please note, no BHS Class of 1960 funds were used to produce and mail this report.
From a record keeping standpoint, the coming mailing next week is of major benefit because it will "exercise" all the USPS
addresses in our database, a great test of the accuracy of our records. It is important that we have everyone's correct
USPS addresses for the 50th reunion invitations next year.
The last USPS mailing was to select BHS '60 classmates in January, 2007. It was a hardcopy version of "BHS Class of
1960 Electronic News Letter January 2007" (see next topic below for details). Recipients were BHS '60 members
without a known email address. The last full and complete USPS mailing made to every classmate was on 06/08/05. This was the
orange, 8 Page, Vol 1 Issue 1 of our fancy "BHS 1960 Connections Newsletter" (see entry below on that date).

Today the
BHS Class of 1960 Electronic News Letter January 2007 was sent to everyone with a valid email address, a total of 158 at this moment, coincidentally equal to the number of hardcopies of the last electronic newsletter send out back in July '06 (see below). I will be researching the email address rejects,|

07/14/06: Hardcopy Version of the Electronic News Letter
Today about 158 hardcopy versions of the
BHS Class of 1960 Electronic News Letter v2 July 2006 were prepped to sent to everyone who does not have an email address. If someone does not receive theirs, then we probably do not have the correct mailing address for that person. You see the problem here, right? In one has no email address, implying no computer, and the snail mail address is wrong, then that person will not hear from us all, and logically won't be reading this announcement, either. If you are reading this, however, and would like it resent, please Let Us Know. If automatic email does not work on your computer, please Contact the Webmaster here.
This hardcopy version of the July 2006 Electronic Newsletter should not be confused with our official BHS Class of 1960
newsletter, BHS 1960 Connections (the orange one with photos). The former are being mailed out over
several days, starting Saturday, July 15.

06/08/05: BHS 1960 Connections 8 Page Vol 1 Issue 1 Newsletter in the Mail!
BHS 1960 Connections Your newsletter was put in the mail on Monday, June 6, 2005. Several members
of the reunion committee got together on Saturday the 4th to stuff the envelopes. A good time was had by all. We
were impressed by the major amount of work done by Primilla (Bailey) Young, Editor. She lives in Virginia, so was
not at the Saturday meeting. Isn't this electronic age amazing? Edited in Virginia, printed in Beverly. Jimmy
Jacques BHS '59, the printer and owner of J & E Graphics in the Cummings Center, did a fantastic job, and due
to unusual circumstances actually made a house call. Many thanks to those involved in this enterprise, with a
special thanks to Primilla and Jimmy.
05/26/05: Hardcopy Newsletter Progress Report II
Our hardcopy newsletter was delivered to Jimmy Jacques BHS '59, the printer, today at 10:00 AM. This will be printed using "old school" technology, as Jimmy likes to say. I do believe the overall impression one will get from the final product is a sense that it was commercially printed, which it is, of course. I think he is going to do a superb job, due his dedication to his work.

Primilla (Bailey) Young is in the process of selecting some of the so-called "Memory Book" submissions made
by some of our classmates back in 2001. She is in the process of contacting the appropriate classmates for updates
and corrections prior to printing. For example, one classmate expressed a wish to have grandchildren back in 2001;
four years later she has some. Prim will be doing the same for certain biographies some of our classmates posted
on the Beverly High Alumni Class of 1960 Page. This is on
the Beverly High Alumni website, not our Class of 1960 website.
Please send your stories, updates and corrections to
Primilla (Bailey) Young.

02/19/05: Electronic News Letter
BHS Class of 1960 will definitely have a 45th reunion this year. A hardcopy newsletter,
eventually would be called BHS 1960 Connections is still in the works. Soliciting
ideas for content and personal contributions to same. How to contact BHS Class of 1960. Announcing
the 43rd annual Beverly-Florida reunion. Announcing the 2005 Sports Hall of Fame induction.
Request for help in locating "lost" classmates, and in keeping names and addresses up to
date. Information on how to post a short biography on the Beverly High Alumni website.

10/12/09: Message From the Editor

Hello Classmates,
By now, hopefully, you have learned that we will have our 50th (can you believe it?) class
reunion next Aug. Part of preparing for that reunion will be the publication of the 2nd issue of BHS 60
Connections. Serving as the editor of that publication, I am soliciting articles from classmates. The articles
can be a short bio (what's been happening in your life since graduation); perhaps a poem or reflections on
life. I'd also like to hear what was your favorite song during our high school years; your favorite movie;
your favorite teacher (and why); your favorite place to hang out during high school; and a special highlight
of your three years at BHS. Please send me any of the information requested above to
Prim Young, Editor.
If automatic email does not work on your system, my email address is queenprim25@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Prim (Bailey) Young, Editor

The second issue of BHS 1960 Connections is in the works, pending submissions
from our classmates - if you have something to say, please send it in.

Do you have anything to share with your BHS '60 Classmates? The Connection
editor, Prim (Bailey) Young, is looking for newsletter contributions. See details below. |
We intend to mail a free hardcopy newsletter to every classmate, including those for whom we have
an email address.
On June 6, 2005, Vol 1 Issue 1 of BHS 1960 Connections
was sent out by first class mail. If you did not receive yours in the mail by the end of June, 2005,
please Contact the Webmaster, as this
probably means we do not have your correct mailing address. Thanks.
Before that, on April 18, 2005, the reunion invitations were sent out by first class mail. If you did not
receive yours in the mail by the end of April, 2005, please Contact the Webmaster,
as this probably means we do not have your correct mailing address. Thanks.
Please send Newsletter submittals, articles, notices, etc. to Andrea (Raymond) Stackpole
or Primilla (Bailey) Young
for consideration, if you have something to share with your fellow classmates.
If automatic email does not work on your system, Prim's email address is queenprim25@gmail.com.
Andrea's suggestions, to prime the pump here:
Prim says, "I would suggest guidelines such as: please
submit [articles, other copy] as a word document; straight copy (no formatting)
other than paragraphing; use 11 pt New Times Roman. My experience with the church
newsletters I prepared was that putting the document together was faster and
easier if I received straight copy. I am aware many people use computers and
like to format, etc.; and when this takes off, there will be as many different
styles as there are people who submit the articles. If submissions are all uniform,
then copy editor's task is easier. Of course, we would welcome from author's
for particular formatting ideas."
